I read news reports stating that skin cancer is on the rise.
I also read that sales of SPF-based skincare products are at a record high.
How can there be more skin cancer if we are protecting our skin from the sun more? Could it be…
In the name of fashion, we wear any type of fabric in any color. We love our spandex! it makes us look all smooth and pounds disappear without eating less of what we should not eat to begin with. We love our blacks, reds, yellows and blues. Some years ago, a company came up with a fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. We can now wear pure plastic on our backs!
A couple days ago, I read that tattoos are detrimental to your health. The color pigments contain known poisons. The article mentioned that even the liver could get damaged.
Then I came across an article stating that regular cotton fabric contains a decent amount of pesticide as well as fertilizer. We know those are not good to eat and we try to avoid them by buying organic food, so why would we want to Wear these same pesticides and fertilizers?
Our skin is our biggest organ. It protects the rest of our bodies. But what is happening to our skin–as well as to the rest of our bodies–when we wear, every day and every night, fabrics made from or loaded with chemicals? The SPF-based skincare products we buy, we assume they are tested and the sun protection factor is established. But are they tested for safety? What kind of chemicals do they contain? Are these chemicals compatible with our skins? Are they safe?
Is it possible that, without thinking, we are the ones hurting ourselves?
