- President Biden is now using climate change to justify his ban on gas and oil drilling. Deflect and confuse is in order.
At first glance, one might think that restricting oil and gas production would be good for the planet. Certainly! If that restriction takes effect globally.
America will produce less. Consumers will need the same amount. Let us guess at where the oil and gas will come from?
America will lose jobs. These jobs will go to foreign countries. I cannot help but remember Hunter Biden’s involvements with China and Ukraine, both countries producers of natural gas.
Should I mention Russia, the biggest natural gas producer on our planet? Confusing. I heard for years that President Trump was in coalition with Russia, but it is President Biden that gives Russia a late big Christmas present.
- In my state, the Governor decreed that schools were to reopen on March 1st. That did not go well with teachers, nor with parents. You do not terrorize a population for a whole year and expect that all will be forgotten when finally convenient.
The word now is that schools will reopen on March 15, but only two days a week. It may go down to only one day if too many kids are sent back to school.
Talking about Covid-19, that big monster that kills us all, let us do some very basic math. The Media is amazing at giving us the death toll.
The numbers today, in the US, are as follows:
Confirmed case: 25,769,724.
The US population is 331,002,651 as of 2020.
7% of the U.S. population has been infected, if we accept that all positive test results are indeed positive.
On a positive note, 93% of the U.S. population has not been infected by Covid-19. Or so we think, as an unknown percentage may have been infected and totally asymptomatic.
U.S. Death attributed to Covid-19: 432,854
16% of Covid-19 infections result in death, 93% of those ages 55 or older.
Another positive, 84% of Covid-19 infected will keep on living.
1.3% of the U.S. population died with the help of Covid-19.
98.7% keep on living their lives.
That is, if we agree that we ought to blatantly disregard grave preexisting conditions that would have been exacerbated by any common cold.
Where it gets confusing is when we start looking at the total number of deaths in 2020 compared to the total number of deaths in 2019. This article mentions an increase of 310,000 deaths in 2020. Does it mean that we should deduct 122,854 deaths wrongfully attributed to Covid-19?
And what about the deaths due to suicide or overdoses that have dramatically increased due to the lockdowns imposed in many states? These deaths are factored in the total number of U.S. deaths as well. This article says that there may have been more suicide than Covid deaths in 2020.
- Since inauguration day, my 401K has steadily been going down. Today was the worst day so far. President Trump, during his reelection campaign, warned that should Biden be elected, we would see our retirement accounts disappear to nothing. Is President Trump a psychic?
